Description
During previous years, The Foundation for Andover Schools has graciously awarded many Classroom Audio Distribution Systems (CADS) to various schools within the district. As a result, many Andover students and their teachers have experienced the benefits related to the CADS that are intended to amplify a teacher's voice equally throughout the classroom using a microphone transmitter and a specially designed speaker. I have been fortunate enough this year to have a CADS in my classroom and have truly observed the benefits, such as achieving a level of calmness and focus that I believe comes as a result of not needing to raise my voice in order to be heard, coupled with the fact that my voice is evenly distributed throughout the classroom. I have especially noticed that this helps with students who have a difficult time focusing. Unfortunately, the system I currently have will travel with one of my current students as he moves to 3rd grade; therefore, my goal is to use funds earned from this grant to purchase a system that will stay in my classroom.
