Description

The premise of Medical Detectives (the class) is to expose students to the many different ways medicine can be practiced as a career. The capstone of the class is to use their knowledge of crime scene analysis to investigate a mock crime scene. This fosters analysis skills as well as creativity in trying to piece together how the crime occurred. Students have to interview "suspects" (other staff) in the school to piece together what might have happened. Finally, they compose a police report with their evidence. 

The grant would allow us to upgrade our medical detective's crime scene mannequin. Currently, we have a torso-only mannequin and it would be useful to receive a grant to buy a new mannequin that could simulate multiple crime scenes to investigate.
