I am requesting a grant to help transform our playground into a child-friendly, thematic, and safe area for movement. I have selected the pirate theme stencil as it includes lots of different activities for students to complete. Some of these activities include jewels with letters, a path to walk around, a crab crawl area, along with other gross motor activities like 10 jumping jacks, 10 arm circles, etc. These stencils will appeal to kindergarteners all the way up to 5th graders by providing appropriate proprioceptive and vestibular sensory input. This addition will help decrease sensory-seeking behaviors. Fulfilling this grant will help all of our students and give them a chance to help increase their focus as well as their attention inside the classroom.
