Saturday Academy is an American History enrichment program offered to students in grades 7-12. This academy explores American History at a deeper level, allowing students to form their own understanding of historical events or eras. American History is studied through primary documents, used as a means for students to explore the past.
Recent sessions of Saturday Academy have focused on topics that are both broad and specific such as:
· Entrepreneurs in American History
· AP US History prep
· American Tragedies
· Presidential Assassinations
· 9/11
· 1968: A Turning Point Year
· Jackie Robinson
· The Wild West
This academy is a chance for students to gain a deeper understanding of the American nation as well as allows teachers a unique opportunity to share their passions within American History.
Typical cost for the Saturday Academy has been $15,000. This funds the instructors, certificates of completion for students, and small other classroom accommodations.
