Makerspace has consistently proven to be a highly innovative educational experience for students of all ages both in and outside of USD 385. The objectives promote individualized and self-directed STEAM, critical thinking, decision making, collaborative learning, technical reading, and problem solving skills. At the elementary school level, students seldom experience many of the engaging 21st century learning opportunities that Makerspace provides. Students today are encouraged to guide and facilitate their own instruction. Due to the ever changing technological world we live in, students require more innovative and rigorous educational opportunities that will prepare them for future careers. With Makerspace, students will let their imagination and creativity guide their learning as they select from projects and activities that are designed to go above and beyond their 21st century educational needs.
